Cold Email or Reddit Ads for a New Product?

By Yuntao Zou, Founder, VentiMap@TaoMachina

With VentiMap you do not have to pick one. It does both for you: it finds customers who match your business, contacts them for you in your company's name and follows up automatically, and it runs Reddit ads at a daily amount you approve. You see every step on the Work Map, so none of it is a black box.

I'm VentiMap's founder. Below is what each channel does, which one pays off first for which buyer, and what it costs.

How does VentiMap do cold email for a new product?

The company's outreach finds the people itself. It researches businesses that fit your product, looks up the contacts listed for them and keeps a small stock of candidates ready, so you never have to build a list. For a product aimed at businesses it prefers named people at those businesses. For a consumer product it goes to the writers, creators and communities those buyers follow.

  • It checks each address before anything is sent. An address that does not pass is dropped and never contacted, and no-reply, abuse and similar addresses are skipped.
  • It writes the first email as a letter you can read and edit, and sends it in your company's name. Auto outreach turns on at launch and sends on its own within the daily limit, which keeps delivery healthy for every company.
  • It follows up at the pace you choose, from every 3 to every 365 days. Every email carries an opt-out.
  • Replies land in your company's inbox, and the Manager tells you in your chat what happened.
  • You can edit the letter, change the follow-up pace or switch outreach off at any time through the Manager.

How does VentiMap run Reddit ads?

Reddit ads run on any paid pass, and they start only after you approve a daily amount. Ads start from $7 a day, once your Credits cover at least two days at that amount. The ad pictures come from your company's Media library, where images are drawn from the company's own design board, its palette and style, so they match your site. Reddit reviews each ad first, usually within 48 hours, and nothing is spent until it is approved.

You are never charged more than your daily amount for a day, ads pause when Credits run low, and unspent Credits return to you. Of what ads cost, 80% buys the ads and 20% is VentiMap's fee. Passes start at $20 for 30 days and never renew on their own; see the pricing page for the three passes.

Can VentiMap post on my own X account?

Yes. Connect the company's own X account and VentiMap writes a post you can preview, edit and regenerate. Each post goes out on your account at X's list price, $0.015, or $0.20 with a link, charged only when X accepts the post. On a pass, the Manager can post on a schedule you choose, from once a day to off, and your first post on a free account is free.

Can I see what the outreach and ads are doing?

Yes, and that is a big part of the point. VentiMap lays the plan out as a Work Map: every step the agents plan and take, how the steps connect and where each one is. The Manager posts a line in your chat for each change, such as a new image, an X post or a task done, and the Control Panel shows the numbers so far. Outreach and ads each have their own switch.

Which channel pays off first for my buyer?

VentiMap runs both, so the question is only where your first replies are likely to come from. Cold email reaches a person VentiMap picked. Reddit ads reach a topic you picked.

  • You sell to a company or a professional (an agency, a clinic, a freelancer, an accountant): cold email reaches them by name and a single yes pays for many tries.
  • You sell to a consumer or hobbyist with a clear interest (a game, a gadget, a hobby tool): Reddit ads put your offer in front of the people who already read about the problem.
  • You sell something that costs hundreds of dollars, or a service: lead with cold email.
  • You sell something small and impulsive: lead with Reddit ads, and let outreach reach the writers and communities your buyers follow.

Run both for a week and keep the channel that gives you more real conversations for the money. Replies in the company inbox and clicks on the ads are the numbers that matter. Open rates tell you little.

If you are still working out who your first buyer is, start with how to get your first customers, then let VentiMap run the channel.

Common questions

Should a new product start with cold email or Reddit ads?

With VentiMap, start with both. Cold email reaches business buyers by name, Reddit ads reach consumers and hobbyists who gather in communities, and the Control Panel shows the numbers so far for both.

Does VentiMap find the people to email?

Yes. VentiMap finds customers who match your business, checks each address before anything is sent, and contacts them for you in your company's name. You do not upload or buy a list.

Does VentiMap follow up automatically?

Yes. It follows up at the pace you choose, from every 3 to every 365 days, and every email carries an opt-out. Replies land in your company's inbox and the Manager tells you what happened.

Who decides how much the Reddit ads spend?

You do. Ads start only after you approve a daily amount, from $7 a day, and you are never charged more than that amount for a day. Reddit reviews each ad first, usually within 48 hours, and nothing is spent until it is approved.

Is there one AI tool that does cold email and Reddit ads?

Yes. VentiMap runs outreach email and Reddit ads for the company it builds, adds posts on the company's own X account, and shows every step on the Work Map. It takes 0% of each sale, so no platform charges less.
