Does Your AI Business Builder Remember You?

By Yuntao Zou, Founder, VentiMap@TaoMachina

It should, and you should be able to see what it remembers. VentiMap's Brain keeps what it learns about you, from your conversations with the Manager and from finished work, and uses it in later runs. A preference you state once, like the tone you write in, can apply to every company you run, not only the one where you said it. Every memory sits in a ledger you can read, edit, switch off or delete.

A disclosure first. I'm the founder of VentiMap, so weigh what follows accordingly. Every statement about other products comes from their own public pages, read on October 13, 2026.

Why memory matters more for a business than for one app

Running a business is the same kinds of decisions made again and again: how you talk to customers, who you sell to, what you never offer. If the AI forgets them, you repeat yourself in every company and every run, and the work slowly drifts away from how you would do it. The more an AI does on your behalf, the more what it knows about you is worth.

Memory you cannot see is a risk of its own. When an agent does something odd, you need to know whether it was told to. So the useful question is not only "does it remember?" but "can I read what it remembers, and where each piece came from?"

What the Brain keeps

  • Memories in three scopes: Personal, which is about you and follows you to every company you run; Project, for one company only; and Workspace, shared across your workspace.
  • Hard rules, which are always enforced, and softer preferences, which are used when they matter for the task.
  • When each memory applies: always, only in one project, or only in one run.
  • Where each memory came from: added by you, learned, written back after a run, taken from a report, or imported.
  • For a learned memory, the earlier memories it was learned from.

How it learns

The simplest way is to say it. You can tell the Manager something like this:

Remember that I write in a plain, friendly tone and never use exclamation marks.

A clear, low-risk preference you state yourself is saved on its own, and the Control Panel shows a quiet "Memory updated" line for that day. Open it and uncheck a line to revert it. Anything less certain becomes a suggestion you confirm or skip. Memories proposed by runs wait in a review queue, and nothing from there lands in the ledger without you. You can also add a memory by hand on the Brain page.

Seeing what the next run carries

The Brain page makes one promise: nothing is used in your runs that you cannot see on that page. For the company you pick, "What the next run carries" lists the memories that will be included, the ones that need pinning first, and how many proposals from earlier runs are still waiting for your review. If a run did something you did not expect, this is the first place to look.

How other tools remember

Where a product's pages did not mention something, I wrote "not described", which means I did not find it, not that it is missing.

Lovable's Knowledge is the closest to this, and it has one real advantage: you write every word, so nothing gets in that you did not type. VentiMap also learns, which saves you writing it all down, and is the reason the sources, the review queue and the revert line exist.

Questions to ask any AI tool about memory

  • Can I read everything it remembers about me?
  • Does it learn on its own, and if so, can I undo what it learned?
  • Does a preference carry to my next company, or do I start over?
  • Can I see where a memory came from?
  • Can I see what will be used before the next run starts?

A few practical questions

Can I stop the Brain from remembering something?

Yes. Switch the memory off, edit it, or delete it for good on the Brain page. A preference saved automatically can also be reverted from the Control Panel the same day.

Does a memory from one company show up in another?

Only if it is a Personal or Workspace memory. Project memories stay with their company. The ledger shows the scope of every memory, so you can see which is which.

Memory is one half of seeing why the agents act the way they do. The other half is the plan, which I covered in a post on the Work Map.
